I accidentally deleted some built in triggers for an assessment and can't add them back. See below. Any advice is most welcome!

Hello,

I'm a newbie and am taking an asynchronous course to learn 360. I'm creating an assessment. It has two question banks and draws established for each bank. I have also created a results slide. In a preview, the quiz goes perfectly but it will not go the results slide. I think I know why but want to know if there is a fix for it or if I'm doomed, lol.

The course instructor (Devlin Peck) always removes the player at the beginning of a project (I guess to be able to customize things?) In any case, he usually also removes the triggers that automatically go with it. I did that but don't think I was supposed to. When I click once on a slide to highlight and try to add a trigger to make it go to the results page, the triggers are greyed out, I can't add one. Is there any way to fix my earlier mistake?

I've attached a screen shot and the file. I'd so appreciate any advice, thank you!

  • Hey Kathleen,

Those attachments don't seem to work.

Can you share the .story file so I can have a look?

      Hello Veronica,

I'm wondering if you had some feedback on the file that I sent you a few days ago. I'm eager to understand what I was doing wrong.

  • Hi Kathleen, I'm so sorry for the delay!

I did look at your file and tried a few things, but so far I cannot for the life of me figure out why the Jump to next slide trigger is not going to the Results slide.

I was going to just set up a dummy new project in a similar way just to see what's different, but I have run out of time and have a deadline today.

    I would suggest trying that:

    1 Open a new project.

2 Create one T/F question (it can just be empty questions, so long as the layers, options and triggers are there). Remove the built in SUBMIT button, and insert a built in button and re-trigger the submit action.

2 Duplicate the T/F 5 times so you have 6 questions. Assign one to the first bank, and the other 5 to the other bank,

3 Set up the draws like you have them now, both in the same scene.

4 Add the results slide into the scene.

    and test.

Feel free to post back here, I'll have a bit more time later in the week, sorry!

Thank you for your reply. Well, at least I don't feel like I was missing
something obvious if you also can't figure out the trigger thing.

I followed your advice and was setting up the little scenario you suggested
to test it. And this time I got held up somewhere else!

I have 2 question banks populated and want to set up a draw. When I go to
question banks, the part that says "new draw from question bank" is greyed
out and I can't select it. What the what? I know this is probably so
annoying but I'm really hoping you can stick with me and troubleshoot when
you have time. Why do certain things keep getting greyed out and I can't
      continue?

Attached is the file I was trying to do for a test.

Ok! Disregard what I said in the last email about not getting the question
      draw to work.

So, I did the sample project as you described and everything worked as I
wanted it to. (updated version of it here) I believe the only difference
was that I removed the built in player triggers on my original project and
      not on this one.

Now the question is this: is there any way to get those triggers back once
they're deleted? (as in my original project) Or do I have to start over?

Here is the test one working, in case you're curious. But I'm super curious
about the question I posed in the last email: is deleting built in player
      triggers irreversible?

  • Hey Kathleen, what a rollercoaster!

You forgot the attachment, can you add please? I would like to take a look.

Removing built-in triggers should not be irreversible, you should be able to just add them back using the trigger wizard.

  • Hi Kathleen!

I don't see an attachment included in your latest post. You can upload a file by selecting Add Attachment.

Geez, what is my deal? I was sure I attached it, I could see it on my end.
Hopefully this works - thanks for sticking with me.

I've attached both the "test" you recommended and the original project.

Would you mind giving me any email address? I see it attaching every time.
