Assessment questions not working in preview / review

Hello

Just working on a course and each time I am in preview some of my assessment questions lose all interactivity. It seems to be a different question each time. Nothing is registering as clickable / any interactivity, except the submit button.

I have tried a number of times and the question that it is affecting is changing each time.

I have gone back and checked the slides are correct, they are, checked the triggers, they are and also putting it into review where the same issue occurs.

I have also saved, closed and reopened the file, restarted my computer and checked for updates (there are none).

Can anyone help?

    Hi KirstyTeare,

I see my teammate, Robby, was able to assist you in your case. I'm glad to hear this has been resolved!

  • Here's a potential reason: The same variable is used in the triggers without its value being reset. A variable's value doesn't change until a trigger adjusts it. So, for example, if you use the same T/F trigger to track completion of multiple interactions, it will already be True after the first interaction is done.

Beyond that, troubleshooting is just guessing without seeing the .story file. If you upload it, someone might be able to solve the issue.

Here are the best practices for uploading a .story file:

    • Only include slides that are related to the problem.
    • Be sure objects, layers, motion paths, and variables have meaningful names.
    • If there is proprietary content, replace or delete it. For example, replace proprietary text with “ipsum lorem” text.

      Hi JudyNollet

Thanks for your reply. I have checked and there isn't any variables on the slides. I am 99% positive this is a glitch with Storyline as the questions that are not working change each time I go into preview / review.

Sometimes they will work, other times they won't. I have a colleague who has checked the file and they are experiencing the same issue.
