Image Resolution in Rise

What size and resolution (in dpi) is optimal for images inserted into Rise courses? When purchasing images from a royalty free supplier, the price increases with both parameters.

Thank you,

David Evans

  • Hi David,

Thanks for reaching out! Because Rise 360 courses are fully responsive, your images may have different dimensions as they adapt to different devices and orientations. For this reason we don't have any specific size recommendations, but check out these best practices when working with media in Rise.

I hope that's helpful! Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help. :)

  • Hi Tracy! We generally recommend that you avoid using images with text or any important information that could be cropped off, since the cover photo adapts to different devices and orientations. In general, a 1:3 aspect ratio works well, but you'll want to test that on various browser sizes and devices to get an idea of how the image will look in different environments.

  • I'd like to know the minimum size recommended for the cover photo. I need to purchase a bunch and will want to filter out what would be too small and therefore look bad in the cover photo area.

  • Hi All, I have a similar issue with the banner image on a course.  The image I have loaded is being cut-off, so not resizing to fit the space (see below).  What dimensions should I be giving to the designer to create something that will fit.
