Independent Countdown Timer

Hello!

I need assistance with a javascript code. I currently have a code for a 60sec countdown timer (copy/pasted code from a YouTube tutorial). My problem occurs when one of the slides resets to initial state, resetting the timer. Is there a proper code to allow the timer to countdown independent of all slides? With all of the advancements of gamification, I’m curious as to why Storyline hasn’t created a feature like this, without having to create a quiz. Thanks for your help!
