This just seems such a great idea for gamification of courses. I have come here looking for how to do this in Storyline as we are building a simulation and having generic photos or avatar illustrations is not really cutting it for a realistic simulation.
Thanks!

I agree with you Daniel. We're looking to use this feature for a road trip theme and have the learner upload selfies at a landmark. We'll have to fall back on plan b of using avatars. :(

Jessie,
Others may know about some capability within Storyline where you can have learners upload images. However, I do not. In the meantime, if I wanted to provide the learner the ability to practice uploading images, the first way I could think of to do this is as follows:
- Create a slide with a hyperlink that says "Click here to upload an image."
- The hyperlink would open a SharePoint or shared folder within the network (that everyone who is taking the course has writable access to).
- The learner would need to upload an image with a particular naming convention like (Bryant_Patti_Image).
I hope this helps and look forward to seeing suggestions from others.
Keepin' the joy,
Patti Bryant

Hey Jessie and Patti,
I wasn't sure what the question one. I like your idea. I'm wondering if in addition video recording within SL could be used. And there could be options to view it, do step-by-step, and then on your own, as you suggest'

Hi Rebecca, this is the situation Would like the kids to upload their picture in the box provided.
Hi Patti, thanks for the steps.
What is the action chosen for the trigger hyperlink? Is it JUMP to URL/FILE?
What happens if the images are located in their own PCs? Is there any other instruction for that?

Hi Jessie and Patti,
Patti, tx for the clarification. I see now.
Regarding the images on their PCs, the hyperlink idea would be the same, except you'd point to the local hard drive.
I have a question, though. I just tested this by jumping to URL/File, but the photo isn't uploaded; instead, the photo opens in a separate browser window. So I, too, would like to know how you can get the photo into SL.

Hi all,
Right now there isn't a feature within Storyline that would allow learners to load their own picture and have it appear within the course. That's a really interesting idea though! It would make a great feature request.

Was this feature solved for?
Hey there, Jazmin. Uploading an image as a learner taking the course is not a feature in Storyline. But you're welcome to add your voice in a feature request!

Hi. Any news on this?
Hi Jacob! Thanks for checking in. It sounds like you're interested in a feature that would allow learners to upload an image while taking your course. This isn't a feature in Storyline 360, but we'll add your vote to the feature request!

I would like that feature too!!!
