Is there a way to score each individual match of a drag and drop?
I am using the matching drag and drop and there are four terms and definitions. In the "edit matching drag and drop" I see score by question, but I assume that is the total - so they would get 10 points if correct and 0 if they even get one wrong? Is there any way to give them partial credit - like if they get 2 out of the 4 matches correct?
Thank you!!

TinCan tracking of PARTIAL quiz scores?
Now here comes the really exciting part of this discussion topic:
What if one wants to track not only the total quiz score but a learner's performance per quiz question with PARTIAL grading for Multiple Response and Drag-and-Drop questions (count "some correct" when user submits 3 out of 6 correct responses of a single quiz question).
Set-up = Storyline 1 with TinCan v0.9
The partial scores of each quiz question have to be published for LMS and sent to SCORM Cloud as LRS.
Any work-arounds, anyone? Thank you!!

This was an amazing thread to find -- I think (hope) I've got my prototype working according to the final recommendation and download from Rebecca. Thank you!
However, I've run into a bit of an aesthetic/clarity issue now due to losing control over drag/drop snap to target settings. If anyone feels like taking a stab at a solution, I started a thread here:
Thanks!
Hi Carmen! Unfortunately Rebecca does not make it back to the forums. I would advise that you share your .story file for the community to take a look at if you'd like or perhaps Kevin will be able to jump in and assist.

Well that's great news. Thanks for popping in with an update Carmen.
Just FYI - Replying to the forums via e-mail will attach your signature, but you are welcome to pop in and edit if needed.
Hello Victoria - This thread is a bit dated, but hopefully Kevin is still subscribed here. It may be helpful to share your .story file so that other community members can assist as well.

hi Leslie, Many thanks for your response. I think I fixed it - I followed my hunch to add a trigger for each drag item on the timeline and it worked. By adding some surrounding text around the %Total% display I managed to get it to display the number correct. It now shows - 'You scored %Total% out of 8' ) . Feeling happy!
Great news Victoria - thanks for sharing your solution :)

So, I needed to allow users to drop the correct items onto the drop targets without an order. I also needed to award partial credit for each drop correct. By looking at this thread plus another I was able to create a relatively simple solution for both using the pick 1 freeform.
Each object has a trigger for drop correct or drop incorrect and a trigger adding 1 to an overall variable whenever a drop correct occurs. The buttons off screen are triggered to be selected based on the variable, and the different buttons are given scoring values in the form view.
Anyway, here's the sample, it's one question from a larger test. I removed the correct/incorrect layer in the actual test.

This has been a great thread; and I feel SO close to solving my issue! But I'm trying to compile an overall score using three Drag & Drops that I've built to track Partial Scores using Mike Taylor's example (Multiple Choice hiding behind Drag & Drops).
I'm pulling my hair out because even though the Results page sees the updated Variable "Partial" accurately, it only counts the first slide's score in the Your Score result.
%Partial% shows 12, which is correct; but Your Score only shows 5 points, and the review shows slides 2 and 3 as Incorrect.
If anyone could tackle this, it would save my week!
You are so close, Rick. I appreciate you sharing your file so that I could take a look.
It's easier to explain as a demo, so I recorded a quick Peek 360 video as I took a look at your project.
The file I used is attached.

That did it! That one simple step was all I needed. Thank you SO much for this fix; it was a great learning experience for me. I've been working with Articulate for less than six months and have learned so much from you all. Thanks again!

Hey Leslie,
I must be dense, but how do you create a slide which has both multiple choice and drag & drop?
- KyleYates1Community Member
Hi PJ,
It would be a decent amount of work but you could use the pick 1 free form option from my example a few posts above this one. You could manually create multiple choice text boxes and check boxes with triggers that added to the partial point variable... assuming you wanted it scored.
You could use half the screen for the drag and drop and half the screen for the multiple choice but one master variable for scoring.
Thanks,
Kyle

Hi, Rick,
I am glad Leslie was able to help you get the project to work as expected!
I just wanted to add a quick note: it looks like your email signature came through when you replied via email. You can remove it by clicking ‘Edit’ below your response. Here’s a quick Peek video if you need help.
