Logo Panel Size
What is the defined width for logo panel size in Storyline currently?

Hi Adam!
Thanks for sharing. I added your image to a new file and I'm seeing this behavior as well.
You can edit the player colors to change the background of the logo to match your picture.
There is also a similar discussion here that may be of assistance as well.

Hi there,
I appreciate this topic is about maximum sizes, but what about minimum sizes, too?
I'm finding that if the height is anything less than 100px, Storyline 2 is resizing the logo and trashing the quality. This is with the width set to 200px wide.
Can anyone shed any light? Ideally I want a logo that is 30px high - Storyline seems to support this size, but trashes the image quality.
EDIT: This is bizarre. I've changed the canvas size of my image to 200px wide x 30 height, and set the background colour to red. Using SnagIT, the image shown is 200px x 30px, so it should be 1 for 1 mapping, but the quality has been trashed when it appears in Storyline. If I repeat this test but set the height to 100px, all appears absolutely fine. Almost as though it's resampling the image for the sake of it?
EDIT2: Is my image being converted into a SWF by Storyline 2?
If I export the player, I notice two things:
<option name="logo_enabled" value="true">
<options>
<option name="logo_url" value="story_content\5yAGMRPdRgt_DX248_DY455.swf">
<options />
<properties>
<property name="width" value="100" />
<property name="height" value="30" />
</properties>
</option>
</options>
<properties />
</option>Secondly:
<logo assetguid="10e6ccbe-a5a3-4883-be17-43068ad1fc5b" AssetName="K:\mylogo.png">
<asset>(long string)</asset>
</logo> Hi Joe,
The smallest size you could put in would be 1x1 - but I'm not sure you would want to do it that small.
Storyline will scale any logos that are bigger than the maximum to fit within the dimensions you indicated above. When you add a logo to your sidebar, Storyline will also include a border and slight shadow on it. If you are using a smaller logo, you may still it look blurry in the player preview, but how does it appear within the whole course preview or the Storyline published output? This is a much older example from Storyline but you can see a smaller logo fit, but it does leave a fair bit of white space based on the overall player width and height.
If you're logo is not behaving as you'd expect, we’d be happy to take a look at your file. You’ll want to upload the .story file here (which is the file prior to publishing) and the logo image using the “ADD ATTACHMENT” button at the bottom of the forums reply window. If you’d prefer to not share in the public forums you’re always welcome to share with our Support Engineers here. They’re available 24/7 to assist!

Hi there, thanks for the reply. I found the issue by reading through the code and as per my second edit above, the issue is caused by Storyline converting the PNG logo into a SWF.
I found an online PNG to SWF converter that preserved the transparency but crucially, maintained the quality as well.
Thanks Joe for the update and I'm happy to hear you were able to find a way to get it to work for you!

What happens when you use 200x220 image and also allow for full browser view?
Will the image become grainy? Is there an update on player image size since moving to 360?
Hi Robert,
With images and videos any scaling that you do will impact the image's resolution and could lead to potential blurriness. Take a look at some of the recommendations here as a starting point and I'd suggest testing the course as your preferred size to see how it behaves.

Ashley, I think the problem is that Storyline/Presenter scale the image down. This scaled logo panel size probably hasn't changed since 1024x768 monitors were considered large, and back then, it probably didn't matter, but what happens now is that Articulate scales it down, but then when people view it on their large monitors, it gets scaled back up. If anyone has a current example of a logo not looking blurry, I would love to see it.

I would agree that the recommendation to "Lock the Storyline Player at Optimal Size" would prevent this, but this standard size is now becoming quite small on a typical user's monitor.
