Multiple Languages in CC?

Hello everyone!
I have a client who has 5 different languages that they want their users to have the options of using Closed Captions for. The only way I know how to make this possible is within the LMS and changing languages. Is it possible within Storyline to add more than one language?

So based on your comment, it’s not possible lol. That’s all I need to know and how I can find a workaround for them.

  • Are the languages in different slides or the same slides? If they are different it can be done if they are the same at the moment it is not possible but is coming.

Hi Phil!  Thanks for the response.  They are wanting the user to be able to choose within the slide or at the beginning of the course so it would show throughout the course.   They feel choosing via the LMS might be confusing for some users.  You mentioned its coming, do you have an ETA?  Right now we are prototyping the courses out, and have some time before we have to produce the final product.  If it's soon, that would be amazing!  :)

  • I don't have an ETA. Are you changing the language on each slide? You could have a layer for each video with different CCs but will make the slides large to load

We aren't changing it on every slide.  We are putting short video clips on each slide and want the user to be able to select CC option for their preferred language.  My initial thought was to create five different Articulate files for each different language and upload those as different SCORM files in the LMS and that's where they would select the preferred language.  Each course is less than three minutes in length.

      Hi Phil!

Just checking in to see if this has been queued for development / release yet.  We are anxious for this feature. :)

        Hi Lyndsie!

Thanks for checking in on this!

I don't have any updates to share at this time as our team has been prioritizing other features. I've included your voice in the feature report and will update this discussion if it makes it onto our Feature Roadmap! For your reference, here's a closer look at how we manage feature requests.

Have a great rest of your week and happy developing!
