Notes font gets larger when replaying slide

Has anyone else had issues with the size of the text in the NOTES section in StoryLine if you select the REPLAY button? When I first view the Notes, the text is as expected. If I hit the REPLAY button the text gets a couple of points larger. Any thoughts on this?

  • Hi MichaelGallaghe

Happy to help! I tested this out on my end, and I can't replicate this font size change that you mentioned you are experiencing. I have a few questions to understand your setup better:

    • It sounds like you're viewing this in Preview. Do you experience any changes to the font when publishing and revisiting your course?
    • What font are you using in the Notes tab? I'm curious if you're experiencing this font enlargement when using a different font.

As a first step, I recommend repairing Storyline 360 to help clear out any glitches the software may have, but please let me know if you still run into issues after this and we can continue troubleshooting.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Actually, it works fine in Preview Mode. If I publish, that is when the font issue occurs. The font is Open Sans 9 point.

I uninstalled StoryLine, and reinstalled. Did not fix issue. I tried resetting the Player and that didn't work either.

  • Following up. This happens using the Classic Player when Player size is set to "Fill browser window". If I set the Player to "Lock Player at optimal size" the issue doesn't occur.

  • Is there a way to report this to Support? This is an issue on any course I have using the "Classic" Player.

Thank you for sharing your Storyline course with our support team, Michael! I see that my colleague, Phil, has helped identify and report this behavior as a bug that happens when publishing with the Classic player. The bug was observed in Version 3.91 and later, so the workaround for now is to roll back to Storyline 360, Version 3.90.

Our product team is already aware of the issue, and we'll let you know if there are updates. In the meantime, if you have any questions regarding the issue, please feel free to reach out through the support case.
