Only one type of review/retry allowed per quiz? Even with separate buttons?

On failure to pass the quiz, I would like to allow a review of incorrect answers (with correct answers) only and to retry the incorrect answers only. Learners who want to move quickly will appreciate this and I can do that with no problem.

However on successfully passing the quiz, I would like learners who want more practice to be able to review the entire quiz and to retake the entire quiz if desired. This would be helpful for those who want to practice until they can get it easily without using their notes (as they will subsequently be taking an in-person test). This doesn't seem to work. Whenever, I make any new button to do this (on the success layer) - it ends up changing the action of the button on the main layer as well and vice versa.

Is what I am trying to do possible?

  • Hello Robin,

    Happy to help!

The 'Review results' trigger found in the 'Failure' and 'Success' layers share the same configuration. You can't change one without changing the other.

One workaround that you can do is to duplicate your quiz and redirect your learners there from the 'Success' layer so you can allow your learners to retake the same quiz but with a different review configuration.

Feel free to share a copy of your project file here if you need any help with the implementation of this workaround!

Yes, I figured that must be the case after a few tries. I just didn't know if I was missing something. So, I imagine I can just put the quiz in a different scene, direct them there with a button then have them join the course again via a trigger after that results.

Can  you tell me why, in that same module, my quiz questions do not randomize even when that is selected? It always starts with the exact same question and follows the same order (it seems).

      Hello Robin,

If you're using a question bank, I recommend doing a few passes on your quiz with the "Draw questions randomly" option enabled to confirm if the randomize feature is working.

If your questions aren't getting shuffled even after a few attempts, please share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case so we can take a closer look at what's happening. We'll delete it when we're done testing!
