Play and Stop buttons greyed out in Timeline

Sometimes my Play and Stop buttons are greyed out (and can't be used) in my Timeline in Storyline. What could be causing this, and how can I reactivate them?

Thanks!

  • Hello Everyone! ✨

I'm happy to share that we have released a new update for Storyline 360 (Build 3.76.30446.0).

In this update, we have implemented a fix for:

    • Timeline preview buttons weren't always clickable.

As a first stepI recommend updating Storyline 360 to the latest version. Here's how:

    Update Authoring Apps

    Have a great day!

Yep, it's still an ongoing issue (I'm using Windows 10, Storyline 360 - everything updated). Actually, it's increased in its frequency over the past 2 to 3 months. At seemingly random intervals, my timeline's play and stop button will become greyed out and I'll have to save, close, and reopen the project to get them active again. This sometimes occurs several times a workday.

I know at first glance this may seem inconsequential, but it really disrupts the flow of work when you have to do this. Hopefully it's something that will get (permanently) addressed soon.
