Quiz Maker Question Attempts

I am creating a system navigational simulation test in Quiz Maker using hotspots. I want to stop the user after they score a specific number of questions wrong, regardless of where they are in this simulation. I found 'Attempts Permitted' but this is per question, and I am wanting to set an attempt per exam. Is there a resource or functionality in Quiz Maker to do this? Thank you!

  • Hi Amber,

Setting an 'attempts permitted' limit on questions, and enforced per exam is currently not an available option in Quizmaker 360. We'd like to hear more about your thoughts on this feature, so we recommend raising this as a feature request

As an alternative, you can consider importing your quiz slides into Storyline 360, which offers much more customizing options through the use of triggers and variables. In Storyline 360, here's what I'd do to achieve this effect:

    1. Set a variable that tracks the number of attempts that have already been taken
    2. Add trigger conditions to question slides that show an alert that the maximum number of attempts have been taken

I've created a demo file so you can check out in more detail how I implemented the two steps above in Storyline 360.

Let me know if you have any questions!
