Re-size 'handles' missing when working with Marker labels

We have a bug reported where marker handles can disappear when a marker with states was upgraded to Storyline 360.

I have also noticed this issue, and I don't believe the course was converted to 360 from another Storyline version. I have attached the SL360 file with the single slide where I have the markers.

I noticed when hovering over the top of the marker label that there was a double arrow to make it taller, and the ability to move its position, but no way to resize the width.

I appreciate you sharing your course so I could take a look! I successfully dragged the text label width, so I cannot replicate what you see in the file.

As a first step, you may want to try updating Storyline to the latest version or repair Storyline 360 to see if that helps!

Well, isn't that odd! Technology tends to work correctly when others do it! Thanks for the video clip - super helpful way to illustrate fixes in these situations.

Yes, this happens to me regularly. The sizing handles on marker labels disappear while I'm working on a course. It makes editing markers a hassle because I have to recreate them and reformat them every time I need to resize them. This is a course built in the most current version of Articulate 360, and I am current on all updates as of 3/31/2022. A sample slide is attached.

Hi Steven! I apologize for the issues you are experiencing with the sizing handles on markers disappearing. I can understand how that would be frustrating.

Is this course you are working on upgraded from an older version of Storyline?

We have a bug reported where marker handles can disappear when a marker with states was upgraded to Storyline 360.

The current workaround is to remove the state, or hover over the edges of the text area for the resizable handle to appear.

We are tracking this issue and will keep you informed of any updates.

I am experiencing the same issue where the handles of the label do not appear.

I am working from a template which not upgraded from an older version of Storyline 360.

I have checked and Storyline is up to date (v3.67.28569.0).

There is Selected state to the icon and if I remove the state the handles return. This creates more work because then I have to add the state back.

Hi, I'm also having this issue on a course created in the last couple of months. We've never had any other versions of Storyline. The marker has no other states and worked absolutely fine until I've come to do a couple of updates. The updates mean that I've changed the font so the text no longer fits - I have used the markers as instruction texts and there is at least one (often several) on every page of a fairly long course, so if these all need to be replaced, this will cause a ridiculous amount of work.

Sorry to hear that you ran into similar behavior. Since you mentioned that your course was built entirely using the same version of Storyline, would you be willing to share a copy of it here or in private by opening a support case so we can take a look at why you are encountering issues with resizing markers? 

If you're familiar with the previous version of Storyline 360 where your project file last worked properly, you can consider doing a downgrade your installation as a temporary workaround..
