Remove "http://" from url link

I am trying to use a button to add a link that does not begin with http:// but that is added automatically to either a button or a link within a text block. I am not sure exactly why this is needed (it is being used by a client on a proprietary LMS) but I need to know if it is possible. Thank you.

  • Hi team. Wondering if there are any updates on this issue. It seems to be around for a bit (but still occurring). Maybe a piece of code that could be rewritten?

  • Hi Katie,

The http:// will be added automatically when you go to insert a hyperlink. It sounds like adding that in breaks your URL/link?  If you wanted to share what you were linking to, someone may have another idea for a way to make this work!

Was this issue resolved as I am having the same issue?

  • Hi there! Since this is an older discussion, let's start fresh. What web content are you linking to in your button block? Would you mind sharing the link you're using?

  • I agree. I think it's silly that we can't enter whatever url we want. We have use cases where we need to use a relative url so that the link opens to a course on the domain that content is being viewed on.

  • Same issue here on my side. We have internal link syntax that only works without the http:// prefix. Is there any way or workaround in the meantime that solves this problem?
