Reorder slides in Story View
As I said above, Storyline presents STORYVIEW based on its programming. When there are lots of cross links, it doesn't care about slide#s and scene#s that don't directly impact the links. It just presents what it considers is the optimal layout to show the connections. I'd guess that the order of objects and/or triggers impacts that, but I don't really know.
What I do know is that someone taking a course never sees STORYVIEW. If the course triggers work when previewed or published, that's what ultimately matters.
I agree that it can be frustrating as a developer to not be able to rearrange STORYVIEW, but there's nothing you can do about that.
When you're actually editing in SLIDEVIEW, there are a couple ways to switch scenes:
- Double-click slides in STORYVIEW to open a slide from each scene. That will create slide tabs, which allow you to move quickly from one scene to another. And, of course, you can still move between slides in a given scene by using the Scenes panel.
Note: If you delete a slide, the program takes away one of the tabs. And, unfortunately, there's no way to rearrange the tabs...
- When you're on any slide, you can use the drop-down in the Scenes panel to jump to another scene. FYI: It'll always jump to the 1st slide in the other scene.
