Resume where left off giving completion credit.
I want the learner to be able to resume where they left off when re-entering provided, they have not finished the course.
However, I noticed if they complete the course and received credit on the results slide, the next time they re-enter and click resume, they automatically receive credit again. I do not want the learner to resume to the results slide and give credit automatically.

Can I ask if you've tested your course in a different LMS to isolate if the behavior is specific to the LMS that you're using? You can use SCORM Cloud to compare the results and see if credit will be given automatically here.
One other thing that you could check is if the resume behavior of your Results Slide is set to "Reset to initial state". With the resume behavior set to this, any trigger that is set to fire at the start of the timeline will trigger when your learners resume the course on the Results Slide, including any submit triggers.
If you can replicate the behavior in SCORM Cloud, please share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case for testing. We'll delete it when we're done!
Jack, I have a similar question, except credit for our courses is not tied to a results slide, but a credit button. Have you found a solution that works for you?
