Rise 360 + Vimeo
Hello,
We are currently receiving several calls from clients informing us that they are unable to watch the videos in our training courses. The courses were created with Rise 360 and Vimeo videos are embedded.
After verification, when we view the videos directly on Vimeo, the issue does not occur.
Within the course, when we press the play button, the video starts but the image remains frozen — only the audio can be heard. This situation occurs on multiple computers, both inside and outside our network.
Is there currently an incident or a known issue on your end?

Hi,
We are seeing the same problem in Rise Edit Mode and in published Rise courses.
Additionally, the video play/pause control does not respond to clicks while the video is playing.

Hi BenoitDion,
I'm glad you're reaching out about this!
Currently, there are no known incidents involving Vimeo videos freezing in Rise 360. That said, what you’re describing is not expected behavior.
I see you've submitted a case with our Support Engineers, so they'll be reaching out shortly. If you can please share with them whether these videos previously worked correctly in Rise 360, or if this is the first time learners are accessing the courses, that would help narrow down the issue!

Hi Kelly,
This seems not to be an isolated incident. All of our team members are seeing this problem (we all work from different locations) and are all seeing the same issue in Rise Edit mode and for published courses.
The fact that this also affecting Vimeo videos in published courses seems to suggest a problem with the Vimeo service itself.

I tested videos from video on other software as well as my personal website and they played fine. The issue is with Articulate Rise. Example:

I'm chating with Luiza Q, i gave her the information, she told me :
...If it's a confirmed issue with our services or servers, we'll post it on our Status page.
...
I'm sharing information with her.- KellyAunerStaff
Hi, KarlMuller!
I responded to Benoit before I saw your first post, so thanks for following up! These additional details are certainly helpful. I see my teammate, Robert, has been assigned to your case, so they'll be in touch shortly via email.

It is not isolated and occurs on all browsers. I have tested on Prisma, Edge, Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Opera. I also tested a Vimeo embed on my personal website to see if the issue is Vimeo and it played perfectly. YouTube embeds and uploaded videos work fine on Rise. It's the Vimeo embed that has issues playing but is ONLY on Rise.

Please create a Tech Support case and report your findings, and include the URL of this post as a reference.

I already did that and chatted with a rep. They are blaming Vimeo. I chatted with Vimeo support as well, they are blaming Articulate.
The only workaround I found is using the embed code from Vimeo and not the URL link. That seems to work so far. Unfortunately, I can't change over 600+ links on hundreds of courses... so yeah, fun times.

Any support or update on this issue?

I just discovered the same problem, when I click Vimeo links in Articulate Rise the sound plays, but not the video (it is just stuck on the first frame)... All browsers and all projects = same problem... What has happened all of a sudden...???

Following this thread in fear my org may experience the same issue.

Hi,
We are experiencing exactly the same issue!
I just raised a ticket to Articulate support as well. For us, this is extremely urgent matter as most of our learners are impacted and the number of videos is too important to just share with them the direct links.
UPDATE: we also raised a ticket to Vimeo team, they said that they are aware of the issue and working on fixing it. However, the answer seemed half automatic with the usual wording, so I'm not sure if the issue is coming from Vimeo. - BegoaSilvaCommunity Member
