Rise 360 + Vimeo
Hello,
We are currently receiving several calls from clients informing us that they are unable to watch the videos in our training courses. The courses were created with Rise 360 and Vimeo videos are embedded.
After verification, when we view the videos directly on Vimeo, the issue does not occur.
Within the course, when we press the play button, the video starts but the image remains frozen — only the audio can be heard. This situation occurs on multiple computers, both inside and outside our network.
Is there currently an incident or a known issue on your end?

In our case, this does not appear to be an isolated issue. Our organization has more than 100 courses created in Rise 360 with Vimeo embedded videos, and they are currently affected by the same problem.
Across these courses, when users press play, the video starts (the audio plays correctly), but the image remains frozen. As mentioned, the videos work perfectly when accessed directly on Vimeo, and we have also tested embedding them on other websites and in Genially without any issues.
Given the scale of the impact on our side, we would appreciate confirmation as to whether there is an ongoing incident or any known issue affecting embedded Vimeo players.

From my testing, if using the URL link provided, it does not play correctly. If you use the embed code provided, it works. The issue on our end is that we have 600+ courses with over 800+ videos... so replacing those links to reupload SCORMs is a bit much...

We, here in France, are also experienceing the same issue, the video freezes at the beginning the sound continues but the video doesn't follow. Video works fine on Vimeo.

We're seeing the same issue on our Rise courses too. It's only affecting our courses built using Rise. It's not affecting our courses built using Adapt Builder. They both have the same embed method using the URL link. So the issue must be with Articulate.

Workaround suggested be Articulate Support:
- Use the video's embed block. Here's how you can find this info:
- Open the video in Vimeo.
- Right-click on it.
- Click "Copy embed block".
- Use that embed block to replace the video's URL in Rise.
We tried, it works. But good luck if like us, you have hundreds of videos embeded across hundreds of courses.
They are woking on the issue, no idea when it will be fixed.- MichaelNilss577Community Member
Replacing links would take MONTHS for a full-time employee... It has always worked fine, so there must be something they can do on a global level...

Hello everyone!
Appreciate you all reaching out! I can confirm that our team is investigating this bug where Vimeo videos are not displaying as expected in Rise 360. I have added all of your voices to the existing bug report. I'd like to share this article on how we tackle bugs, for your reference.
As a workaround, you can try either of these:
- Use the video's embed block. Here's how you can find this info:
-
- Open the video in Vimeo.
- Right-click on it.
- Click "Copy embed block".
- Use that embed block to replace the video's URL in Rise.
- Advise your learners to play the video on Vimeo. This will open a new window or tab on their browser where they can play the video without issues.
We're sorry if this has been slowing you down. We'll be sure to share any future updates on a fix in this thread, so all are in the loop!

Thank you for your help. Unfortunately that solution only works for new courses. Many of us cannot afford to do that with all our our courses as we have have hundreds of courses with hundreds of videos.
