RISE 360 and SCORM manifest identifier
Hi - I've been looking through previous reports on the impact of making a course change in Rise 360 and then uploading to the LMS (SCORM 1.2).
Our LMS is Skilljar. I made one modification to a course and upon exporting noticed the manifest identifier was changed. When I updated the course, student history was lost.
Does this mean I need to manually update the manifest identifier each time I update a course so the manifest identifier stays the same? In Storyline the manifest identifier doesn't change unless publishing information is changed.
Thanks,
Shawn

Hi Anna,
Yes, we still use TopClass, but not the latest version. I don't like giving out my email on the forums though.

Hi Anna,
If we only make text edits, replace media, the update works perfectly. Bookmarking and student progress all remains intact. I did this again today.
However, when you change the structure of the course by deleting Rise lessons or creating new Lessons, the LMS Suspend data no longer matches the course structure, and the students that had an in-progress or completed status will get the grey screen when they try to resume the course. You will need to remove and reassign them to the course, but then they have to redo the course. For completed students you could manually mark them as complete.

I work in a highly regulated industry.
We have a set of very well defined rules about when we can edit a course, and then replace the SCORM for an existing Rise course, and what the threshold is for creating an entirely new version of the course,
So we fortunately very rarely need to unenroll/re-enroll students .

This is a huge issue for us, 4 years later. Has anyone resolved it?
