Rise Export to Web Not Working
I have a number of courses that are built in Rise.
Each of these courses holds various types of multimedia content.
Previously I was using the web export option because I do not need to track completion for these courses. I am loading them into a Thinkific LMS.
The workflow of exporting to web and then uploading the zip file to Thinkific has worked for years.
It is now no longer working for any of the courses that I have published.
Has something changed in the export to web process that makes these files no longer readable by an LMS like Thinkific?
Hi everyone!
Thanks for all the details that you've provided on this issue.
If you created a case, you'll likely already know that we fixed this today but for those that didn't, today's Rise 360 update included a fix for when content published to web output would fail to load when embedded in an iframe.
You'll need to re-publish any affected content to see this fix.
Thanks again and please let us know if you need any additional help!

I got a notice from Articulate Support that the issue has been fixed. I went in and tested it with my course and it did work so hopefully it will be working for everyone else now as well.

Hi Luciana, I republished a Rise course and uploaded it to netlify, which is where I had my previous HTML published Rise courses, and I still get the "content is loading" spinning disc...(screenshot below)

Hi Whitney,
Our Engineers did a full analysis and are confident that this is a problem originating from Articulates May 7th product release to Rise 360
related to synchronous cross-origin Window property access.
This is affecting many customers of Thinkific and others from other platforms as well (netlify) from what we see in the thread. Can we get an update on a fix or your team's progress here?

I'm having the same issue as the others here, with new packages, uploading to Thinkific. Older uploads are still working fine. This has been a problem for the past 2 days for me. I'm getting the spinning circle 'Your Content is Loading' but it never loads. I've opened a ticket in regard to this - I really need this resolved urgently as I have learners waiting on content.

I created a ticket and came back to me and said it ran on AWS fine. Only I use netlify so that wasn't really helpful.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for sharing all of these details. Seeing that previously uploaded web exports are still working while newly published ones are getting stuck on “loading” is especially helpful context.
While Rise 360 web exports are intended for web hosting environments rather than SCORM/xAPI LMS workflows, we understand many Thinkific users have successfully used them in multimedia lessons for quite some time.
At the moment, we haven’t confirmed the root cause yet, so I don’t want to speculate on whether this is related to a platform change in Thinkific, a change in newer web exports, or another compatibility factor. However, the details everyone has shared here are very helpful for narrowing things down.
If you haven’t already, please open a support case and share a copy of the exported web package along with details about when the issue started occurring for you. That will help the team investigate further.
I appreciate everyone continuing to share findings and testing results here.

As I mentioned in my above post, I use Netlify, which is a web hosting environment.

I am having the same issue. when i export to web, and then open the zip folder, then re-zip the contents inside the zip folder, and pop that into the multimedia course in thinkific, i get a "your content is loading" which never actually loads. all of my students can't access the new course materials i've been working on. we need a solve for this asap.

Hi
I am a French Thinkific user and I have the same issue. I also created a support ticket yesterday.
I am blocked and can no longer offer new courses with web content. 😟- KatrinaStarCommunity Member
Same here, I also created a support ticket.

Yes this is frustrating. I was able to export it as "web" and embed it in my Canvas page. My previous ones are still working fine, but for all the new ones I couldn't embed them to Canvas anymore. That also means I cannot make new changes to my old ones otherwise I lose them. I wonder why Rise 360 made this change and it's so frustrating. I couldn't find another way to embed my Rise into my course.

Very frustrating, I agree!

Whitney, are you saying that the 'web' packages that were previously working in Thinkific are no longer working, or just new web packages being uploaded to Thinkific? Either way, it sounds like a change on the Thinkific end.

All my previous ones are still working. It is just the new ones I'm having trouble with.""
I did do some searching around on the web and found reference to Articulate changing some of the way they construct these output packages for the web version.
However none of the suggested workarounds that I found were successful for me.
One of the workarounds was to use a SCORM package but my current Thinkific plan does not allow for a SCORM lesson type. It requires us to use the multimedia lesson type
so publishing as SCORM does not work.

Yes, I am in the same boat. I have to use it as a multimedia lesson. Only Plus membership allows for SCORM. I am sill waiting on Thinkific to reply (they are investigating the issue).

The ones that previously worked still work for me. But all the new ones get stuck on "loading."
