RISE Launch and Manifest URL - Train.org LMS

Hi Heroes,

I am working on loading a Rise course onto a system called Train (train.org) and their system does not allow an upload of a zipped scorm file but rather requires a Launch URL and Manifest URL. (See attached image of admin portal). I am wondering if you all suggest loading my scorm course content to an AWS server and using the public link to these files (index and manifest) to run the course for this system? Similar to Tom Kuhlmann's training for SCORM AWS hosting here:

https://blogs.articulate.com/rapid-elearning/create-an-amazon-s3-account-to-share-courses-for-free/

Question: If publicly hosting via AWS, would this allow anyone with the link to access the course? I would like to keep the course private outside of those who have enrolled via the Train LMS.

Here is a train pdf on SCORM uploads:

I have tried reaching out to Train, but thought I'd post here as well for any tips.

Thanks everyone,

Tim

  • Hi Tim!

Hope you don’t mind me resurrecting your old post! My team uses Train.org as well. We put our courses in our agency’s content drive so it is technically available to anyone in the public but we can limit access to the Train course by just selecting the group of users who can enroll.

Using Rise 360 for SCORM courses is a new process for my team and we are struggling with which links in the SCORM folder are the manifest and launch URLs. Train didn’t have an answer for me either. Any chance you’d be able/willing to assist?

I’d appreciate any insight you could offer! Thanks!
