Showing the end user where and how to exit the light box
The x may not be readily visible or evident to the end user,
Is there a way to have an arrow pointing to it to show them how to close the lightbox?

Difficult because the learner's screen/browser dimensions might vary dramatically from one to another. The easier thing to do would be to add a second method of closing the lightbox like a visible "Close" button.
