Slide copying between projects
Hi, my colleague and I are trying to copy a scene from one (old) project to a new project, to hopefully fix some errors we can't resolve, so attempting a fresh start. But, when we copy either an individual slide, or a whole scene, (it is a big scene with 60+ slides showing a software process), many of the slides don't copy across properly, and just show some of the images on that slide, and a grey background with the word 'video' in small font in the centre. We'd be very grateful for any help on what's happening if anyone has any thoughts?
Thanks!
Paul

Hi PaulWilliams1! Thanks for adding a screenshot! Copying and pasting can present challenges. Have you tried importing those slides into your course instead? Does that make a difference?

Hi PaulWilliams1,
Thanks for following up and confirming you tried importing as well. Since you are still seeing those grey placeholders with “video” on multiple slides, it sounds like some of the media or slide elements are not coming across correctly.
One thing you could test is importing just a few slides at a time instead of the whole scene, to see if smaller batches carry over more reliably.
If the problem continues, the quickest way forward would be to share a copy of your Storyline file with us in a private support case. That way, our team can open the file directly, test the import, and look for any corruption in the original project.
Appreciate you taking the time to detail what you are seeing, and we’ll be glad to dig in further with you.
