Slide triggers/Conditional triggers
I have a slide that has a "mission accomplished" audio and graphics on it. Ideally the learner wouldn't click on this slide in the menu item until they have visited all the slides they're supposed to. Now, I don't want to restrict the menu. So, I thought I'd add a layer to the slide that has a "not quite yet" text box on it. The layer would play, when the timeline starts on the slide, given certain conditions (i.e. house1 is False (not visited) OR house 2 is False and so on).
When I test the course, Storyline behaves as expected only the first time I access the slide: the layer will play immediately (basically skipping the slide content which says mission accomplished). And the conditions dictate that the next button take the learner to a particular starting point. But when I leave the slide, and come back to it again without having met the conditions, the layer displays but this time the audio of the base/slide also plays. So, basically the conditional trigger works fine the first time the slide is accessed but not the subsequent times. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Sara
See attached story file if that is behaving correctly.
Also when you are doing the 'Replay' if you are just clicking the replay button it will default to replaying that slide which is why I think the Mission slide keeps replaying
If you are having a 'Free' menu, and you don't want them to access Mission slide, I think you will need to remove it from view in the menu list.

Hi Sara
you can remove the 'Mission Accomplished' slide from the menu list in the player if you don't want learners to click on it - if it is a slide and not a layer that is

Hi Sara
not sure if this is what you are trying to achieve - see attached sample created in SL1

Wendy, thank you so much for sharing this file. It could work that way. I'll think about it. Right now (you can see in the image) the Mission Accomplished is an individual slide. It would be nice to keep it that way but it's not critical.
For now what I have done is add a trigger to the Mission Accomplished slide to jump to Let's Hit the Neighborhood slide if any of the homes are not visited. Though, I might just do it as a Layer like you had it.
Thanks for your help! I wish I could understand why the trigger I created only works ok the first time! I have tried various settings in the Slide and Layer properties with no luck. But I have to move on...
Thanks again!

Hey Sara
do you want to upload your story file and I'll take a look if you like?

Wendy, see attached file (in SL version 2). Thanks for helping me figure out why the trigger doesn't work properly the second time the Mission Accomplished slide is visited, even though the conditions are still met by the trigger.

Update:
Hi Sara, there is something with the conditional trigger - it says OR in the slide view, but it says AND in the trigger wizard view - not sure if that is freaking it out. I'm still looking...lol

Wendy,
Thank you for helping me figure this out. I'll have to either remove the Mission Accomplished slide or have a trigger that redirects them to the beginning slide if conditions are not met.
Sara
Glad that Wendy was able to assist you here Sara. Thanks for popping in with an update.
