Thank you! Changing the states was very helpful and time saving on several levels. I also found that I was apparently confusing Articulate when I created an initial trigger to hide based on the start of the timeline and then a subsequent trigger to show based on the reference/variable.
When both the hide and show triggers were based on the reference/ variable, (or initial state is hidden) it worked!
