Storyline 360 V33.95.33670.0 Screen reader problem
Hello,
I recently noticed that the JAWS was not finding or reading my accessible text boxes like it used to. We have a two-track course - the user chooses at the beginning if they are using a screen reader or not and if so, we have text behind a white layer that has all the audio text on it that the screen reader used to find and read while other items on the page that aren't necessary are left out of the focus order and accessibility. I also made sure there were only a couple things including that text in the tab order.
Now something happened with a software update or something as I have come back to the course for edits after a few months and the same text isn't being found when published. I updated to the newest version of storyline 360 as I noticed in the V.70 version there was a screen reader readability update and updated my JAWS software but none of that seems to help.
I have republished this so many times with different tweaks that I'm out of ideas. Has anyone had an issue like this? I need to figure this out ASAP. This is using Microsoft Edge as well as Brave.
Screenreader text below white layer so not visible normally. Even without the white layer (which isn't visible to the reader anyway) it won't find the text - i.e. the text is visible on the page.
Text box is set to be visible to readers:
Focus order is appropriate:
Hello TomSchultz-1340,
Thanks so much for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing with your course when using JAWS.
You mentioned that you attached your .story file but I am not seeing this on my end. I tried reproducing this on my end, but would appreciate a closer look at your full file to assist with troubleshooting further. Do you mind uploading again in this discussion or privately in a support case?
