Storyline Blank Screen
When I publish my Storyline to Review 360 or even preview the entire project it shows a blank screen. I have attached a picture for reference. I am saving it to my local drive and my file name is not too large (those were some of the suggestions to fix a blank screen issue on other threads). I can preview individual slides too. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

When troubleshooting an issue such as this, Emily, the first four things I check are:
1. What type of media is being loaded/displayed? (Is it a very large image? Is there a linked video? Etc.)
2. What are the triggers on this slide doing? (Is there a Pause Media trigger firing? Are any of the triggers incomplete/unlinked/broken?)
3. Are there any states or layers being used? (Are the associated triggers set up properly if so?)
4. What is on the layout (media and triggers) of the slide master that this slide is using?

1. The media being displayed on the first slide is a simple image with shapes. It is on all of our modules so likely not the issue. Could it have stemmed from something too large being added and is crashing the entire project?
2. There are no triggers on that slide other than the next trigger.
3. There are no layers or states on that slide.
4. I am not sure I am understanding this question. The very first slide is a title slide and has pretty much nothing going on.

Regarding #4, every slide is linked to a master slide or layout beneath a master slide. Is there anything going on on that master slide layout that could be causing the problem (e.g., a trigger showing a layer with nothing on it)?
If none of this applies, just delete and recreate the slide to see if that helps.

We are using blank Master Slides for the most part. I tried to add a "test" slide before the initial slide to see if it will show, but that slide is not showing either. It has to be something else in the project that is causing the issue.

Set the navigation to Free in the Player, publish (to web on your local drive or to Review) and see if you can navigate to, and see, other slides loading. If not, you likely have a corrupt file.
To troubleshoot a corrupt file, import the first half into a new temporary file and import the second half into another temporary file. Try them both. If one works and the other doesn't, then you have identified the half that isn't working. Continue the process with the broken half (import half into another file and the second half into another) until you isolate the problematic slide(s). Delete those slides and recreate them.
If you're permitted to do so, you can send me the file privately and I'll be happy to dig into it.

Thank you Steve for your trouble shooting help! It was one slide that was corrupt so I added scene by scene into a fresh project until I ran into the same issue. I then did the same thing for each slide in that scene! What a scavenger hunt haha!

Glad you found the issue, Emily. Good luck with the project!

Hi I am also having this problem with an interaction I am working on. Could anyone help me with the issue in my file?
- SteveGannonCommunity Member
Rachel, can you post the .story file? You can make a temporary version of your file, delete all the content except the troublesome part(s), save and post that small version of the file. We can take a look.

Here is the file, appreciate the quick response!

I did not encounter a blank slide when I tested your file when previewing or publishing. I did notice that you have not provided the user a way to close the pop-up layers on the five "stages" slides, making it difficult to see and click on the "Back" button (I had to TAB to the button; even though I couldn't see it, I can tell when it has focus and then I pressed the space bar to select it and return to the menu).
Is there one particular slide in the set you provided that is appearing blank?

This is all I can see when I try to preview the project.

I have tried previewing the first slide, and all individual slides as well as the entire project but nothing appears in preview. I have also published to review 360 and have the same issue.

I'm not experiencing that with your file on my end. Do you have this issue with other Storyline files?
Are you using the latest Storyline 360 update?
You may need to repair your installation as described here:

I have never experienced this issue before that's why I am stumped and now even more so that there is no issue on your end, I assumed it was a user error!
I have restarted my machine and tried to follow the link you sent but just receive this error:

I saved your file under a new name and have attached it here without any changes. Give this a try just to see if it helps. I'm using the latest update of SL 360.

This one also does not work ðŸ˜

In that case, I would try reinstalling Storyline. If that doesn't work, open a case with Articulate.

Done. Good luck!
