Storyline continues to be a HEAVILY FLAWED piece of software

There is absolutely no reason in the world why I'm here wasting 5-10 minutes trying to simply select an object of text inside a state in order to edit the text inside the text. I can't select it even when I try to click and drag the selector to identify the object becaues it's usually too big and then several objects are selected and then I try to unselect the others but the only one I want selected gets unselected in the process.

Just a terribly unintuitive design to this software, and I'm so tired of it...I know for sure it's not my fault. So let's not get into solutions. I just want this thing fixed in the backend so you can directly click the center of an object and actually--crazy thought--have it selected.
