Storyline Timeout Setting

Hello All!

We are currently encountering an issue in our LMS where we have a package content (SCORM 2004) that will take over 2+ hours for a Learner to complete.

Our issue we are encountering is that employees are not exiting the package content correctly and leave the package content open on their computers.

Is there a setting we can configure that would throw an "error" message after a certain period of inactivity on the package side?

The issue is that when they are leaving the package content open on their computers their activity and scores aren't being captured in the LMS. We need them to exit the package content when they are done for the day so the LMS can record the interactions.

Thanks!

Carolina

  • Hello Carolina,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Timeout limits are typically managed by the LMS. Please check with your LMS team to see if they have this option. If the LMS supports it, ask what are the steps to configure it.

One workaround you can apply is to set a reminder not to leave the course open at the beginning of your course. While not a definite solution, this should hopefully reduce the number of learners who leave their course open.
