Storyline Translation document missing ALT text
Hi Joe - thanks for the response. The alt text is not disappearing in the storyline file but when I export the file for translation the alt text is not appearing in the word document (even though it is in the storyline file).
Hello Nicole,
Thanks for the clarification, and my apologies for the oversight.
I tested the behavior using NVDA and here are my observations:
- The translation document contains the ALT text for shapes that do not have text.
- The translation document contains the printed text for shapes that do not have text.
- Screen readers read the ALT text for shapes that do not have any text.
- Screen readers read the text that is written on the shape when present.
With that being said, can I ask if you have any objects without text that do not have their ALT text included in the exported translation file? If yes, please feel free to share the file so we can take a look at it.

Hello OliverTandayu-a,
It looks like you posted this question in another ELH post. Yes, Alt-text is included in the exported XLIFF translation file. The tags that contain the Alt-text are in this format in the translation file for your reference:
<trans-unit id="64PM7p9LaG7.AltText" datatype="plaintext">This is a test</trans-unit>Let me know if you need anything else!

Hello, I find asking validators to validate the ALT text is a confusing process. Is there a way to hide the image ALT text on the translation tab?
