Team slides and slide masters why all the duplicates
Hi ShawnAbsolam!
I understand importing multiple slides that share the same Slide Master layout is causing duplication in Storyline!
If you've confirmed that you are working locally, and a repair of your Storyline installation doesn't change the behavior, seeing a screen recording of the issue would be helpful. Do you mind sharing that here in the discussion or privately through a support case?
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Thanks for responding StevenBenassi .
I did a reinstall and I'm not noticing duplicates of the master slides being downloaded per slide from the Team slides.
But this behaviour happens when the same theme is the default in Storyline when a Team slide is added a duplicate of the Slide master is downloaded.

Hi ShawnAbsolam!
Thanks for following up and sharing the feedback!
I'd like our support engineers to take a closer look into this behavior, so I've opened a support case on your behalf. You're in excellent hands troubleshooting with them and they should be connecting with you via e-mail shortly.
Have a great start to your week!

I know this thread is 2 years old, but was there ever a resolution for it? We are running into the same issue.

Hi LeeMillardButlr! Appreciate you jumping in here!
What you’re seeing can happen if the imported team slides use a modified version of the same default theme. Even if two slide masters share the same name or theme, Storyline treats them as different if the original owner made any tweaks, even tiny ones. That’s why an extra version might pop up.
Here are a couple of ways to help avoid that:
- Try importing your team slides into a separate file first, then bring that file into your main project (File > Import > Storyline).
- You can also clean up any unused slide masters by creating a new file, deleting the first scene, importing your existing course, and saving that fresh version locally.
Hopefully that helps tidy things up! Let me know how it goes or if you’re still seeing duplicates. Happy to keep digging.
