Happy to help.
I can confirm that we have this behavior logged as a bug in Storyline's Classic Player.
- The arrow icon next to a scene in the Player Menu can disappear after the scene is selected or as learners navigate between scenes. Even though the menu hierarchy and child items continue to work normally.
I've linked this discussion to the bug report so we can notify you as soon as a fix is ready. In the meantime, as workarounds, we suggest:
- Using the Modern Player
- Downgrading to Storyline version 3.105.35604.0 or earlier.
- If you need help with accessing an older version of Storyline, please connect with us through a support case.

Our support engineers can assist you with accessing an older version of Storyline. Also, I noticed a support case from May of this year, with the same request.
