Tracking Options set to "Using Triggers" causing "Failed"
Hello,
I have a course with the options set to track completion by trigger when the user loads the "Success" layer of the Results slide. The Reporting option is set to either "Passed/Incomplete" or "Complete/Incomplete" (I've tried both). When a user opens the course and then closes it before completing the LMS (Workday Learning) is getting a "Failed" result. Is this intentional or is something not working right?
EDIT/UPDATE: It isn't a solution really, but the issue is that SCORM 2004 was sending a "failure" whereas 1.2 does not. We will revert to 1.2 to continue getting an "unknown" signal when someone closes the course early.

Hi Andres,
I'm sorry you've hit this snag! Have you tested your course in SCORM cloud? It's an online LMS environment that can be used to figure out whether the issue is with the LMS or the Story file. If you test your course on SCORM cloud and it works perfectly, then your issue is LMS based.
Thanks for reaching out!

Hi Andres,
Thanks for the response! The failed test on SCORM Cloud and mentioning you are publishing to SCORM 2004 leads me to believe you are experiencing a bug in the software that has already been reported. I'm going to add your voice to the report. If there's any news regarding this bug, this conversation will be updated.
Thanks for letting us know about this!

Hi, we are having the same issue. Publishing with SCORM 2004 in Workday. We've tried tracking as Pass/Fail, and Pass/Incomplete. When you close a course before completing the quiz/attestation it shows a screen that says Fail, and gives you the option to retake the lesson. The status remains as In Progress, but shows a Fail grade. When you click Retake Course it takes you back to wherever you left off, allows you to complete the course, gives you a grade, and gets marked as complete. We have a lot of employees who frantically message us when they see that fail screen. I feel like we used to see a screen that said In Progress or Incomplete which would make more sense.
Hi Bonnie,
Sorry to hear that you ran into a similar issue.
As mentioned by my colleague, we are tracking a known issue where an incorrect success status is reported when a course is published as SCORM 2004 2nd or 3rd Edition if the reporting option is set to Completed/Incomplete.
I'd like to test if you are being affected by this bug, or something else entirely. Would you be willing to share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case so we can test your course? We'll delete it afterwards.

Hi, I'm also having an issue where the 'using triggers' is not registering as passed in SCORM - I am, however, using scorm 1.2.
I'm tracking on passed/incomplete, and I can't understand where the issue is as my quiz settings and LMS tracking settings are exactly the same as a previous piece of work, and yet aren't working. I've double checked that the said trigger is definitely in place - JohnMorgan-c50cFormer Staff
Hi Hannah,
I'm sorry you are having a similar issue using SCORM 1.2! The bug we have logged is specifically for SCORM 2004. So, before we start troubleshooting, would you test your course in SCORM cloud? It's an online LMS environment that can be used to figure out whether the issue is with the LMS or the Story file. If you test your course on SCORM cloud and it works perfectly, then your issue is LMS based.
If you don't get the results you want in SCORM cloud, share your file here or in a support case. We'd love to take a look at it!
Thanks for reaching out!

Hi John - I have tested it in scorm cloud, and it's reproducing the same issue - when I finish, it goes back to the final page of the course as if I haven't completed it yet. I'll share my file :)
Hi Hannah,
Thanks for following up on this! I see my teammate, Mark, has been assigned to your support case. You'll be hearing from them soon via email.
