Transcription (PDF file) via Tabs Block
Hello smart Articulate community. I want to have a transcript (PDF file) to open up in a browser tab for a video that has been uploaded via the Tabs Block. So far I can't see any setting that will let me attach a PDF file. Its desirable to have a transcript file near to where the video appears. The expectation is for a screen reader to read the file. If it cannot be done I'd appreciate know if there's another way to achieve a similar outcome. Appreciate the help and support.

Hi Kim,
You can do a couple of things.
1) You can use an attachment block in Rise to upload a PDF file for the user to click on and open.
2) You can embed a PDF file in Rise.
In order to accomplish the second one, follow these steps given by VictoriaBlacik-
1. Upload your PDF as a file attachment to your Rise course.
2. Right click on the download link in the file attachment box and copy the link address.
3. Insert an "Embed" block and use the copied link as the url.

Thank you KendalRasnake-1 . I did investigate how this is being done, however the aim for this is to treat the PDF as a link within an existing block, so I don't want the file to show on the screen, but rather be a link that opens into a tab when clicked. Now I have done this by copying the URL from the 'attachment file' block. This works beautifully, it just opens up into a tab, however its also still visible as an attached file to click as well. I really need a place for the file to be stored (within rise) where I can copy a link from. I don't think that functionality is possible right now, where the file lives somewhere else within RISE but not visible in the course itself. I hope that makes sense.
