Translating closed captions in Rise with localization
I am experimenting in Rise with the new localization feature, but I'm struggling to have the closed captions in the video automatically translated.
The course is translated into 4 different languages. I've added a new chapter to each translated course, included a video, and added the closed captions (as a vtt file). However, after re-translating the course, the closed captions remain in the same, original language.
This article mentions adding closed captions to the video before translating the course. Is it also possible to apply localization to closed captions after they have been added to an already translated course?

Can someone share the response? I had an English video and English VTT file and after translating to French I am missing the captions. I created a French VTT and need to get it added to my video as soon as possible. We have a requirement for French language in our Montreal office. Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

It sounds like you’re running into an issue with captions after translating your course!
It’s best to add closed captions before converting your project to a multi-language course. That way, the captions get included automatically in each translated version.
If you add captions after the file has already been translated, you’ll usually see a prompt in the language stack selector. That happens because the system detects a change in your source language. It’ll ask you to update the translation so the text stays synced across languages.

Once you’ve done that, you should be able to add your French VTT file to the translated video without a problem.
