Trigger response is extremely slow

I have a single slide and one button that shows a layer when clicked.

When the layer opens it checks if numeric entries (24 entries) match the correct numbers and, if so, for each numeric entry, changes the state of the relevant box (24 boxes) from Normal state (with a cross for wrong) to a 'Correct' state (with a tick for correct).

After clicking the button on the base layer, it takes 10 seconds for the answer layer to open showing the crosses or ticks.  A 10 second delay is clearly unacceptable, and I would appreciate any pointers on how this may be cured.

Hey there, Robert! Is it possible to share your file with us here? I'm sure some of the helpful community members would be happy to take a peek and help troubleshoot! Feel free to use the Add Attachment button to upload it.

      Hi Robert!

Thank you so much for sharing your project! I've tested the project on my end and seeing the same delay. I've started a case on your behalf with our Support Engineers. They'll take a look at the file and start troubleshooting with you via email.

Hi Graham, sorry to hear you're also experiencing the same issue. If possible could you please share the file or submit a case privately for our Support Engineers to take a look? Our Support team will be happy to take a look and troubleshoot the issue!

  • Was this resolved? I am having the same issue on one of three buttons on the slide. The delay is only about 5 seconds, but it is very noticeable.

  • Hi Sydney,

Welcome to the E-Learning Heroes community!

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing this delay. Are you comfortable sharing your project file with us so we can investigate what's going on? You can upload it here or privately in a support case. We will delete it from our systems once troubleshooting is complete.

I solved my problem with slow loading of a layer by always selecting the option "Prevent the user from clicking on the other layers".

I also found that triggers in a layer designed to work based on the state of an object in the base layer do always work, so now I use variables. For example, If a trigger in the base layer changes the state of an object (e.g. 'Rectangle1') to hidden, then an adjacent trigger will change a variable (e.g. 'A1' to '1'). A trigger in the non-base layer that is designed to operate if Rectangle1 is hidden (or perhaps some other state) may not work. Instead the trigger in the non-base layer will operate if A1 = 1.
