Video caption overlay and pause not working
I have an existing Mp4 Video demo of an app that I have placed onto a slide.
At certain time points, captions with information appear. At these points, I've added a hotspot so that it can mimic the interactions on the app that is being demo'd on the video. I've also added triggers to pause and resume the timeline when needed.
The issue is that when I preview the slide from Review 360 or just Preview it within SL, none of the captions appear and the cue points pauses don't work.
The video is on the bottom of the timeline. The hotspots stop and start with no overlap.
Any thoughts or places to look for issues?
Thanks.
Hi MaryJames-bdc0f,
Happy to check this for you!
We'll need to do some testing to identify what's preventing your captions from displaying correctly. Would you be willing to share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case so we can check what's happening? We'll delete it when we're done testing!

Thank you for the offer. I opened a case but have not yet heard anything.
Hi MaryJames-bdc0f,
Great call opening a support case! I see that our colleague Luiza is working with you in your case and has reached out to you via email last week.
I understand you're not seeing any recent emails regarding your case in your inbox. Have you tried checking your spam or junk folder?
Please let us know if you end up seeing the email correspondence in another folder in your email! In the meantime, I'll let Luiza know you are having trouble seeing her email responses.

I checked spam and all other areas again but didn't see anything.
Hi MaryJames-bdc0f,
Just to confirm, the email we have on file and associated with your case is luisa.james@airgas.com. Is that correct? I'd be happy to attach another email address that you have in case there is an issue receiving emails from the original email address.
In the meantime, I'm happy to share what Luiza recommended in your case to assist you in the development process:
It seems that the video has no closed captions per this screenshot:

You can add closed captions by following this guide:
https://community.articulate.com/kb/user-guides/storyline-360-creating-and-editing-closed-captions-with-the-built-in-editor/1138912
As for Storyline's cue points not working, this is expected because once the timeline is paused at 0.1s, there's no way to resume it. The first hotspot won't be able to enter the slide since the timeline has already been paused. You can delete the trigger to pause the timeline on the first cue point to resolve this.I hope this helps!

I'm afraid her suggestion does not work and I did not ask about captions. I've resubmitted the files adding other triggers but it is still not working. I'm trying to rebuild it using layers but the timing is way off this way.
Hello MaryJames-bdc0f,
I'm happy to chime in. Thank you for sharing your updated project file in a case. I see that my colleague Robby looked into it and shared a video and a revised Storyline project file with a suggested fix.
Let's continue the conversation in your support case to keep all the information in one place, but I'm happy to assist further as needed!
