VO Over Cut Off First Second of Storyline Courses.

Several of our learners have experienced issues with the first second of the audio getting cut off when the timeline starts. I suspend this is a problem with the bluetooth headphones syncing to the audio. Is this a known issue? Anyway others have troubleshot this in the past?

I've run several tests:
1. delayed the audio on the timeline by one second - no improvement

2. add a second of silence to the beginning of the audio file - no improvement

3. add a second of low volume audio before the VO audio starts - improved for some learners, and got worse for other learners.

The biggest issue for testing is that it is not consistent across learners - some days they experience it other days they don't, using the same model of headphones, only some learners experience it, different learners experience it on different slides.

Thoughts?

  • Is an issue with bluetooth headsets, delaying the start normally fixes it

Are you doing anything to prevent the black play button from appearing on the first slide?

  • Hello,

I am having a similar issue. I have not published my video for users, but am just trying to add cue points to my audio, etc. It seems the audio is either mute or very very quiet for the first word or two of each audio. I have created new audio that I know works, tried to delay it, etc., but nothing seems to work.

  • Hi Heather,

    Thanks for reaching out!

    • Could you share more about how you are recording your audio? (Are you recording from a USB Microphone, your computer, etc.)
    • You mentioned you haven't published to video yet. Are you experiencing this change in volume if you publish to Review 360? I'd be curious to know what browser you are using.
    • What source are you using for your audio output? Is it a bluetooth setup or directly from your computer?

I'd be happy to take a closer at your file. Feel free to share your .story file and audio files with us in this thread or privately in a support case.

        Hi Heather,

Thanks for submitting a support case. That was a smart move! I see that my colleague Dexter offered several suggestions for fixing the audio issue. I encourage you to continue troubleshooting with Dexter so that we can find a fix.
