Voice over quality decreases in Storyline

Hi! I've been working with SL for a while; this is the first time I've ever noticed a very significant decrease in narration quality. I've tried recording in SL as well as importing sound files from audacity and still hear crackly and tinny sound. I've never had this happen with other courses. Any thoughts? Suggestions for what I can do to improve the quality?

    Check that the source file is not 32 bit -- that causes crackles on some systems.  If so, convert to 16 bit.  Also, Under Publish/Quality in Storyline, make sure output is at least 48kbps...
