wheel of fortune with 3 discs in storyline

Dear E-learning Heroes community,

I'm working on a wheel-of-fortune in Storyline containing three discs that spin independently of one another, one on top of the other, each disc with a button to initiate spinning of the disc. However, I am unsure of how to do this. The last time I used Storyline was around five years ago, so consider me a beginner :)

Thank you in advance for your reply!

Best, Sara

  • Hey Sara!

I wanted to share one possible solution to your challenge. The basic idea here is that you can apply the spin animation to an object and then take advantage of a cool timeline trick.

By setting the initial state of the object you want to spin to hidden and then using a change state trigger to change the object's state to normal when the user clicks a button, you can cause the animation to fire. From there, you just need to add a duplicate image over the top and have that object disappear (change state to hidden) when the spinning object appears.

I've recorded a video to walk you through the creation process. I hope this gets you going in the right direction!

PS. I realize that you may be going in a different direction. Depending upon the functionality that you're looking for, you might try this download from our community. It's a bit more in-depth and leverages some advanced Storyline features, but there are some video tutorials out there if you're interested in tackling it!
