I took the simple approach and did this in a story using states. The front of the flashcard is the normal state and when a user clicks on the card to flip it, the state changes to the back of the flashcard.
i realised using a custom state "back" that I created was not the way to do this and the simple solution was just add a state "Selected" which required no triggers either way. Though it would be nice to animate the transition between states e.g. spin

I just posted something similar over here: http://community.articulate.com/forums/p/19521/108604.aspx#108604
Might help get you started?

That' a great idea Nicole! States would have never crossed my mind! Thanks for sharing
Hi, Nicole.
How would you revert back to the original state/ front of the card?
Hi Julie
The back of the card is the selected state so clicking on it toggles it front to back and back to front.
Ive set up the trigger to change state to the back when user clicks the image but what's a good way to change from back to front?
There is a really great flashcard functionality within Rise - could this be imported to Storyline?
