LMS Interactions Reporting

Jul 10, 2013

Hello everybody.

I'm using Storyline to produce courses and quizzes that are deployed on our corporate LMS.

In order to be able to produce statistical reports on quiz results, we would like SCORM to track questions' text and given answers.

It seems that SCORM toryline courses tracking only trasmits to the lms ONE result slide interaction, with no detail about the single questions.

Do you have any suggestion?

Best regards

Hi Enrico! Here is a list of what Articulate sends to an LMS, but it is up to the individual LMS to interpret and display the data.  The results you are looking for are sent.  You can test the output using SCORM Cloud to see if it’s reported as you think it should be. You could also enable LMS Debug Mode so that you can see the data that is being sent if you would like to monitor that.

Dear Leslie,

thank you for your reply. I tried to upload to SCORM Cloud a test course containing three quiz slides and a result slide.

In the scorm log I can see data about the three interactions. However on my LMS (Simulware SEP) i can report only one.

Actually this behaviour appers to be normal, according to what Articulate says:

http://community.articulate.com/tutorials/products/adding-result-slides.aspx

"Storyline also allows you to use multiple result slides in the same course (although only one result slide can be tracked inArticulate Online or another LMS)."

On our LMS we have other SCORM courses that for any tracking session regularly record as many interactions as the number of quizzes of the course.

Thank you for your support!

Leslie,

As it turns out, I am trying to accomplish the same goal, which is to track interactions from all slides and receive this data from the Storyline content. In all of my searching online (and specifically here), I can't find any instructions or examples on how to best accomplish this when creating your content. Any basic instruction related to what steps need to be taken to capture scorm interactions for ALL questions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Robert Coursey
