Cooking Game (Jeopardy style + Gamifiation)

Hello Articulate Heroes!

I'm excited to share my second personal project with you — a cooking-themed, Jeopardy-style game!
Cooking Frienzy

This project was inspired by two fantastic webinar series shared here:

How to Create A Jeopardy! Style Game
Gamification series

I started with the "Jeopardy!" template and added the following custom features:

  1. Cooking-themed questions and answers — 5 questions across 5 categories
  2. Custom visuals — including characters, backgrounds, UI, and tokens
  3. The ability to choose one of three characters at the start of the game (and replay with a different chef assistant!)
  4. Personalized feedback and questions — with character-specific images and voiceovers
  5. A 20-second Pomodoro-style timer with a “wiped” animation
  6. Tokens awarded when the user completes a certain number of questions

The characters were created using AI.

Thank you for taking the time to check out the game! I’d love to hear your thoughts — feel free to share any comments or suggestions!

  • Ekaterina_V you are absolutely on fire lately!! Love that you're telling us not only about your process, but about the actual learning resources you used to get inspired for this in the community.

      Hi Noele!

Thank you so much for your kind words! 😊

I’m fortunate to have some time at work available for training, so I decided to invest it in deepening my knowledge of Articulate 360, since it’s one of my main tools.

The resources here are fantastic, but from my experience as a learner, the best way to truly understand the tools is by building something on my own.

I agree completely! Even though I read about the things that people build every single day here, I always end up really building my skills when I set aside time to actually work with the tools. And then the hour I set aside to play with Storyline turns into two hours because I'm having so much fun/getting fixated on some small visual detail 😅 Maybe you know the feeling?

That's awesome, Ekaterina. I really like that exit "wipe from right" effect. It cleverly represents the time left to answer the question, almost like a visual timer. Very creative.

      Thank you, Nedim!
The "wiped" timer was one of the solutions in "Gamification" series, and I loved it too! It's easiest to make, but looks nice ⏲️

Well done! This is looking like a very professional computer game—I love the colours, graphics, and characters. Do you have a portfolio or a link where I can see more of your work?

Thank you so much for your kind words 🤗

I only have a couple of fun game projects in Articulate so far, another one is Three Little Pigs Game Quiz (also shared in "examples" here, in community). My work projects are under NDA.
I have a background in visual arts, and my digital art portfolio could be found here Portfolio
