Demo: https://360.articulate.com/review/content/518383b2-1161-408d-b9f5-adb9a6f57a11/review Inspired by code discussed on: https://img.ly/blog/how-to-draw-on-an-image-with-javascript/ Using Charts in your Storyline | Articulate - Community About This is a brief example of using an HTML canvas element to enable annotation on a Storyline slide. The example displays an image on a slide, sets a few variables, and the accessibility tags of a some slide objects. It then triggers a JavaScript trigger to create a canvas over the image, and then watches the mouse buttons and movement to allow drawing on the canvas. How it works A canvas element is created, filled with the specified base image, and inserted below a small rectangle (canvasAnchor) that is the same width as and placed directly above the image. Another rectangle (canvasClickArea) overlays and is sized to match the image. This is the area that allows drawing on the canvas (where the mouse is watched). Brush width and color can be controlled. The drawing can be cleared. It also resizes with the slide. To improve The events to watch the mouse and clear button should be better handled to allow removal when a new canvas is created. A mechanism to allow a blank base (clear) should be reinstated. Right now it just relies on the use of the initial image from the slide. Both options have their uses. Since the canvas is a raster image, resizing to very small and then very large results in poor image quality. The image can be extracted from the canvas. This could be saved or printed. More drawing options are available with the canvas element. Credit: X-ray images from https://learningradiology.com/212Views7likes8CommentsBrief flash between slide layers
Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows what I could do to resolve this issue. I keep seeing all the items briefly flash at the beginning of every slide layer. I am not sure why this is. I've made sure these items do not have animations. I've made sure all transitions are "none." The slide properties that are currently checked are "hide other slide layers," "hide objects on base layer," and "prevent the user from clicking on other layer." The flashing is disruptive to the flow of the course because it makes it look like a slide header is reappearing over and over again when in fact, it is not. Could someone please give advice? Thank you!198Views0likes25CommentsText Entry-Three Fields
Hello community, I need help with this project I am working on. It requires a login page (attached) that contains a keypad. The goal is for the user to click the numbers on the keypad and fill in each field in order. Here's what I want to happen: The user starts with the Driver ID field and inserts the appropriate credentials After clicking a button (or just clicking in the box), jump to the Tractor Number field and insert appropriate credentials After clicking a button (or in the box), jump to the DC ID field and insert appropriate credentials. Then I want the user to click a button when their login is completed. Step 4 should lead the user to the "Activity Correct" layer. User should be able to click the "Sign In" hotspot in the "Activity Correct" layer to move on to the next step or receive an incorrect layer if they entered something wrong. There also needs to be an "if" condition so they can't move to the next slide unless all the fields = the correct credentials. I am able to click the numbers on the keypad to put the Driver ID in, but the numbers won't appear on the other two fields. I have already tried the following: making them into layers inserting multiple keypad layers putting in three different buttons and changing their states moving my triggers around from the keypad layer to the base layer and back moving the buttons from the keypad layer to the base layer and back Can someone please look at my project and help me figure out what I am doing wrong? Bonus points if you have an example project with something exactly like this :) If this isn't possible to do, alternative suggestions are very, very appreciated!Solved198Views0likes5CommentsPre-assessment trackable by LMS in a branched course?
Hi everyone. Here's our plan: We want to create a chain of short microlearning courses that each cover one specific topic of our company strategy. Learners, however, only have to take a course if they don't pass a pre-assessment for a specific topic. Let me visualize the idea for you here: Every time a learner fails the entry test, they get taken to the respective learning. Should they pass it, however, they can move on to questions about the next topic. Our Learning Management System is SAP SUCCESS MAP LEARNING. We need Storyline 360 to report all pre-assessment results back to our Learning Management System so that we can ensure we track those who pass entry tests as well as those who end up having to take the microlearnings. Does anyone have experience with this? Is what we're trying to do even possible? Any help is much appreciated!99Views0likes9CommentsSurvey Results Slide
I built a survey in Storlyline 360. I added one of the Survey Result Slides offered in the application (image below), but Storyline is not showing any results when we get to that slide, at least not when using Preview. What I need to accomplish is this: a) Learner fills out the survey, which is comprised by 6 questions (on the same slide), using a 1-10 likert scale for each question. b) Storyline should store these 6 answers in a variable. c) Storyline will then send the results of these 6 questions via email. I have spent almost a whole day with this and I can't figure it out. I noticed a few things (may or may not be relevant): Storyline is treating the Survey Results slide a quiz result slide, which seems a mistake to me. The slide with the survey is classified as Question Slide, so I understand that Can anyone help, please?99Views0likes2CommentsBeginners Tutorial
Is there a true beginner's tutorial? I watched the webinar this morning "Getting Started with Rise 360" and I was trying to duplicate the steps on one screen while watching the webinar. It was kind of advanced training and way too fast of a presentation to allow the viewer to duplicate the motions. Some learners are hands on and learn through repetitive motions. Maybe a tutorial with the basic for people that just started to try to use your product, that explains things like "what is a block" and how did the instructor get from one screen to the next. Slow down. Maybe 90 minutes instead of rushing through 60 minutes. When the instructor started to talk about the "Feedback" part of the training, I got lost. By the time I found the items to click on my screen, the instructor was on a completely different screen. Otherwise, I think the material was very helpful, just hard to keep up. Over a decade ago, I connected with two amazing contractors on this platform, and now I'm seeking another professional to join my team on a contract basis. My main instructional designer is transitioning to a full-time role, and I need someone who can collaborate with me on creating scripts and content for a variety of education-specific subjects. This is contract work, and projects will be assigned as needed. Ideal candidates will have a background in instructional design, research, or subject matter expertise in education. You’ll work closely with me to ensure the content is engaging, accurate, and meets the high standards required for educational development. If you are interested, please reach out with your portfolio or samples of previous work. I’m looking forward to hearing from you! Erika92Views2likes5CommentsInput Numbers Into Field
Hi everyone, I am working on a project that requires numbers to be put in fields using keypads. In the first two scenes where I have done this, the numbers go into the field when I click on them. I created a third scene that requires the same thing, and I am having problems getting the numbers to appear ONLY in this scene. In my experience (I've come here with problems with this same activity before) the issue is usually either the variables or the Javascript. I've played with both, and the numbers still won't appear when I click on the buttons. Can someone please look at this and see if they can figure out where the disconnect is?Solved86Views0likes6CommentsMenu Madness
Hello Storyline Friends 🙂, I have been using Storyline for about six months now and there's one thing I struggle with on every project and it's my menus. I'm attaching one here. The requirement is that the user go in order and not be able to go out of order and that the "P" button is not available until all the audio has finished on this base layer. (Order P,E,A,R) The buttons have to change color upon being visited when the learner comes back to select the button. I do pretty good understanding states so this isn't a problem for me. What I'm confused about is how to set a menu like described above. I have probably seen 50 or more examples on how to do menus and I really struggle to understand or follow what's going on. Most of my courses have these menu requirements and I always need help from another ID to make it happen. Would someone possible be able to tell me if there is a way, or a standard, or an easy to understnad way to set something up like above and then explain the "why" behind the triggers. My apologies if this is a heavy lift, but I really want to get better and faster with this software and this is a huge barrier for me. I get there are articles and I've read some of them but I'm still not sure how to do this. Thanks Nancy85Views0likes5CommentsSoftware Training
