Android

I was doing some research on Storyline and saw that Articulate does not currently support Android. A good percentage of our customers are Android users. We have been a customer with Articulate for years. I was wondering if you plan to fix this in the future and if so, do you have a time frame?
Thank you.

Hi Lindsay,
Storyline content may work on some Android devices, although it is not officially supported. If you'd like to see official support for a particular mobile device, we welcome your feature requests.
Thanks!
Hi Ashley,
Is this something that you are already working on? Any timeline? I'm curious as to what the logic is behind not supporting Android devices to begin with. (Which looks to be about 30% of the market)
Thank you.
Hi Lindsay,
Unfortunately I don't have any timeline on this. I know that this will not help you today, but what I would suggest is if you haven't already, submit it as a feature request. The more of these that indicate our clients are using Android devices, the more informed our development team is about what to design and release next.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help!
Hi Ashley,
I have a question on this, when you say that some content may work is there any way of finding out which content will work? I appreciate that it's not currently supported so if there isn't a way don't worry
Thanks, Charlotte
Hi Charlotte,
The only way to figure it out would be to test a version on an Android device - not incredibly efficient, but that's what I've seen a few users mention here in the forums.
The biggest issue i've had with Android is that the content always seems to be off the page. Rotating from portrait to landscape only shifts how far it is off the page and "scrolling" doesn't help either. The frustrating thing is that it is only a quiz. There isn't anything fancy-- it's a quiz bank.
Hi Jeffrey,
Thanks for sharing that here, and although we don't offer support for Android platforms you may want to share your thoughts on why you'd like to see/need future support for Android platforms.
Hey Ashley- I have read your comments- I just posted about in anroid my education seems to be appearing to the right. as a solution should I publish and lock it- what is your experience of locking the education for education- I have not ever done that I have always had it for scaling. 70% are PCs users 20% ipad- 10% samsung anroid.
Hi Josephine,
I can't speak to what settings you'd want to use on the Android, as we don't support it and I don't use one personally either to have tested it out. What I'd recommend is set up a small sample file that you could publish using a few of the different browser/playing scaling options and see how it appears in the different environments. Also, if you haven't yet - add your voice to the feature requests for future Android support.
Thank you Ashley, I shared my opinion. We don't wanna look for another authoring tool but this is a big disadvantage.
