Unfortunately, there is not way to bypass the character limit in Engage's FAQ interaction. I haven't seen any recent posts on this topic, but I do think this would make a great feature request.
In the meantime, maybe you could consider working with a different type of interaction or work with something in Presenter that would fit the amount of text you need.

Thanks, Christine. I was asking for my wife, also a designer, and she figured out a simpler route.
