Engage in Windows 8 - Flash problems....

Jan 16, 2014

Have a new computer with Win8.1. When I try to open Engage in PPT, it suggests I buy it....already have it. When I try to run it from the Engage shortcut, it tells me I don't have the right version of Flash, to download. But when I try to download, it says "Flash Player is integrated with Internet Explorer in Windows 8. You do not need to install Flash Player."

I have enabled the Flash Player....Am assuming I'll run into this with Quizmaker, too?

Any help appreciated!?!?

Hi Carrie,

When you upgrade to Windows 8.1 and launch Articulate Enrage '09, you will be prompted to activate your software even if it was already activated. This is a known issue. Currently the only solution is to reactivate your software.

Try reactivating through PowerPoint and let me know if you're still running into that issue with Flash.

Thanks!

Thanks, but I'm not getting that far, Christine. I'm reinstalling from a previous download that was a trial and then I purchased. So when I use the Engage icon, I'm told there are 15 days left on my trial and I click FINISH and then I get this screen..

If I choose NO, it closes down. If I choose YES, I get this:

So I can't download a newer version of flash. I have enabled the flash player and disabled ActiveX filter as they suggest, and I have IE 11.09 and have 'install new version automatically' checked so I should have the latest one.

I'm sure I'm missing something simple here....do you see it??

I just uninstalled everything and reinstalled, and it seems to be working. What's odd is that Engage and Quizmaker worked initially....and then didn't. Not sure what I did to 'break' them, so it makes me nervous that they will break again. But for now at least, I'm up and running. Will come back whining if I get in trouble again!
