Flipbook erratic behavior including pink color

I'm having trouble with the Flipbook Engage object version 1.21.  Randomly the next/previous page animation turns pink.  On rarer occasions the image on the page will jump to a new location.  This is happening on 3 different computers and in both IE8 and Firefox.

It appears to be the same issue that was reported in 2010 in the old community forums at:

The Articulate representative said it is documented and under investigation.  Any update on if there is a fix or better work-a-round?  Thanks.
