Formatting lost when text is highlighted

I've been building Process Interactions in Engage and using bullets for some of the text, putting in a space between each of the points. Every time I highlight this text to copy and paste it somewhere else, all the blank spaces are filled in with bullets and formatting is lost. The same thing happens when items are numbered.

Is there any way to prevent this?
