Modifying a slide in one course, but not applying it to all

Sep 27, 2011

Hello,

I'm working on a project to translate my courses into Spanish.  I've run into the following problem.:

When I translate and save my Engage and Quizmaker slides, they become Spanish in my original English versions.  Is there a way I can make changes to these slides without it affecting my slides in other presentation?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Jill,

It sounds like you're going into your presentation & clicking the Edit in Engage button to edit the interaction.  Is that right?  If so, then you're opening the original interaction file, making the changes, and then re-republishing it to the course.  As you've noticed, you're editing the original source file.  Thus, causing changes across all of your presentations.

Here's what you can do to prevent editing the original (English) interaction:

1.  Open Engage from your Desktop or Start menu

2.  Open the English version of the interaction

3.  Perform a Save As and save it with a new name

4.  Translate it to Spanish

5.  Publish it to your translated version of the presentation

Now, you have a completely new interaction in Spanish that is attached to your Spanish presentation.
